Super Chat is YouTube’s answer to Twitch’s Bits: viewers pay a variable amount to pin and color-code a chat message for a set duration. Higher payments produce longer pins and more visible colors. YouTube takes 30% and passes 70% to the creator. For long-form or reaction-heavy YouTube streamers, Super Chats can exceed subscription revenue on a per-stream basis.
